REST IN PEACE PROFESSOR MALIK BADRI

Professor Malik Babiker Badri

Born February 14^th  1932- passed February February 8^th

An accomplished psychologist and superb teacher who left his mark on generations of graduate psychology students in scores of universities in the Middle East and Asia, where he is noted for ‘extraordinary teaching abilities and course development’. For them his towering contributions, modesty, and charm were his signature.

In the Muslim world he is famed as a distinguished scholar and a dedicated mentor who received well earned national, regional and international decorations.

He stayed for more than six decades helping lay foundations of major paradigms in modern psychology.

He deliberated with Professor Eysenck at Maudesely, Professor Wolpe at Temple and worked with Meyers at Middlesex Hospital of London University.

He is widely celebrated for his monumental publications on Alcoholism and AIDS which have made far-reaching scholarly influence.

He laid the foundations of Islamic psychology for which he dedicated lifetime publications, university teaching, graduate supervision and public addresses. His efforts in this respect have helped shape our social sciences orientation.

Many scholars worldwide, Colleagues, students, and friends testify in detail his avid conversations, unassuming warmth and good humor.

• Helped create a broad base of Islamic and Clinical Psychologist all over the Muslim World

• Acting Vice Chancellor Sudanese University of Juba 1983-84.

• Rector International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilization Malaysia, 2003-2004

• Founder of Sudanese Psychological Society.

• Founder of International Association of Muslim Psychologists.

• Mentor of The International Association of Islamic Psychology

• God Father of Islamic Psychology.

• He was Professor of Psychology at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University before he passed away on the 8th of February 2021 while on treatment in Malaysia.
